BIOLUMINESCENCE
BIOLUMINESCENCE
Bioluminescence is one of the most striking and special phenomena in the region. It involves the production of light by certain organisms through a transformation of chemical energy into luminous energy, and it is observed mainly in insects and fungi, but also in bodies of water. This phenomenon, in all its manifestations, is crucial for marine ecosystems. Bioluminescent bacteria are part of the food chain’s foundation, and many organisms depend on them for their nutrition.
This tour is an experience that begins with the sight of landscapes and journeys through forests surrounded by nature during the day, concluding at sunset on an impressive beach with the magic of bioluminescence.
DESCRIPTION
We start the journey at 4:00 pm from the Tambor dock to board the boat. Along the way, you can appreciate the landscapes of the bay and visit the mangrove located in the Pochote estuary( By boat), an area rich in ecosystems. At sunset, while enjoying a snack, we await the sun’s descent on a white sand beach until the moment to observe the bioluminescence. At nightfall, we will take the boat again in search of the best concentration point of the phenomenon, then we will return and conclude the expedition.

Bioluminescence is one of nature’s most impressive and unique phenomena in the region. It is light emitted by certain organisms which transform chemical energy into light energy. It is observed in insects and fungi, but it can also be found in bodies of water, generally in aquatic ecosystems.
In all its forms, this phenomenon plays a significant role in marine environments. Bioluminiscent bacteria are part of the food chain and many organisms depend on them for survival.
